Adolescent DBT and Self-Harm Study

Researchers at the University of Minnesota are currently conducting a research study to compare brain differences in adolescents who self-harm and those who do not.

We are currently recruiting teens aged 12-17 who are medically and psychiatrically healthy as well as teens who engage in self-harm and who are planning to begin DBT treatment or who have recently begun DBT treatment.

Participants will complete questionnaires, computer tasks, and an fMRI scan (a safe, non-invasive way to take pictures of the brain.) Some people will be invited back for another assessment.

Individuals with braces or other non-removable metal objects are not eligible for participation.
