Research

Research Summary/Interests

Statistical approaches to assessing change over time with a focus on multi-level modeling and latent models of change such as Latent Growth Curve Analysis and Growth Mixture Models.

I have served as statistician and co-investigator on a number of federally funded grants and have published extensively, with over 125 publications, across a wide variety of areas of mental health research including post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders and geriatric psychiatry.

Teaching

Teaching Areas

I teach a didactic course on research and methods to 3rd year psychiatry residents and an annual research seminar to psychology interns and fellows at the VA medical center. I am also an adjunct associate professor in St. Mary's University Graduate and Professional School, also teaching research methods and statistics.
