Research Summary/Interests

Dr. Gunlicks-Stoessel’s research focuses on the development and evaluation of interventions for adolescent depression. She has a particular interest in the development of adaptive interventions, which provide clinical guidelines for selecting, combining, and sequencing interventions to personalize the intervention approach. Dr. Gunlicks-Stoessel also conducts research on the interpersonal context of depression, and the social, emotional, and biological processes involved in regulating interpersonal stress.

Dr. Gunlicks-Stoessel is a member of the University of Minnesota's Institute for Translational Research in Children's Mental Health.

Teaching Areas

Dr. Gunlicks-Stoessel trains and supervises clinical psychology graduate students, interns, and post-doctoral fellows, as well as child psychiatry fellows. She also provides training and supervision in interpersonal psychotherapy to clinicians in the community.
