George M. Realmuto, M.D.
Professor

Dr. Realmuto, Professor; Director of the Autism Clinic and Research Center, and Medical Director of the Clinic for Attention Deficit and Learning Disorders at he Fairview-University Medical Center.  Pediatric Mental Health Consultation, and Co-Director of the Autism Clinic and Research Center.  He is a graduate of the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York.  He completed his general residency program in psychiatry at Kings County Hospital.  He completed training in child and adolescent psychiatry at New York Hospital- Cornell Medical Center, Westchester Division, White Plains, New York.  Dr. Realmuto's research interests have focused on the prevention of substance abuse and violence, and the study of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disordered children, comorbidity, risk and protective factors of disruptive children.  He is also interested in the biological determinants of the causes of autism and related developmental disorders.

The prevention of adverse outcomes including drugs and alcohol abuse, school dropout and violence in at risk children due to early onset disruptive behavior.
The anatomic basis of autism including cellular abnormalities
