Matt Kushner, Ph.D.
Professor
Received his doctorate degree in clinical psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1991, and attended a one-year clinical internship at the Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute that same year. He has been on faculty at the University of Minnesota since October of 1991.
Dr. Kushner's research explores the interface between co-occurring anxiety disorders and alcohol disorders; especially the mechanisms mediating this association. Clinically, he employs behavioral and cognitive behavioral techniques in the treatment of anxiety conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder and panic disorder, and moreover, is broadly interested in the psychotherapeutic enterprise. He has published both empirical and non-empirical scholarly reports in several refereed psychiatric and psychological journals.
