About the Director

Susan Czapiewski, M.S., M.D.
Assistant Professor, Departments of Psychiatry and Family Medicine
Director, Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship

Dr. Czapiewski completed medical school and psychiatry residency at the University of Minnesota.  She completed a geriatric medicine fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center.  She is board certified in psychiatry with added qualifications in geriatric psychiatry. 

Prior to coming to the VAMC in September 2004, she practiced at Park Nicollet Clinic and taught psychiatry to family medicine residents until June 2005. She received the “Teacher of the Year” award from graduating residents.

Her interests include neuropsychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, sleep, mindfulness and listening to patients.
