Year Four
(PGY-4):
During the fourth year, psychiatry residents will assume increased patient responsibility, as they function more independently in a variety of clinical and research settings. Selected residents will have the opportunity to assume administrative duties as chief residents or undertake an intensive research experience. Residents are encouraged to identify specific areas of interest, and to develop elective rotations, many of which will occur at affiliated community sites. Any uncompleted "essentials" of psychiatry training must also be completed during this year.
