Night Float Schedule

Starting July 2003 the program will implement a night float call system.  This will be a formal rotation that in combination with emergency psychiatry will represent a 4-month period, typically in the PGY2 year.  The months will not be scheduled as a single block.  The night float will do 2 weeks of night duty (arriving at 9 pm and leaving at 8 am Sunday through Thursday) and 2 weeks of emergency psychiatry (5 pm to 1 am Monday through Thursday and 5 pm to 8 am Friday) four times a year.

PGY1 and PGY2 residents not on the float/emergency rotation will manage weekend call.

A PGY1 or PGY2 resident not on the float/emergency rotation will be designated the “short call” resident Monday through Friday.  Monday through Thursday this resident will remain till 9 pm and on Friday this resident will remain till 1 am.

On-Call Rooms

There are two on-call rooms available to residents.  You will be introduced to these rooms  during orientation.
