Minutes of Brown Bag Meeting

APA was well represented by our Faculty this year.  Drs. Kumra and Grant gave symposia and Dr. Raymond taught a course.

Dr. Schulz thanked Drs. Specker and Lim for their involvement in the U of M Hazelton Fundraiser.  It was a great success.

Mark A. Eustis has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Fairview Health Services, beginning Aug. 1. Eustis will leave Ascension Health in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was President of Regional Ministry Operations.

At the last Department Chairs meeting Dean Powell introduced her strategic plan “Clinical Excellence to Lead to Academic Prominence.”

Psych Update September 17 & 18….two days this year!  The topic will be youth mental health.  The event will be chaired by Dr. Sanjiv Kumra.

A memorandum on security training will be sent to all faculty and staff who have not yet completed this series of trainings.  This training is extremely important and Dr. Schulz reiterated that it must be completed by everyone as soon as possible.

Faye Thompson, MD has been hired for the Maple Grove position. 

Dr. Joseph Westermeyer stepping down as head of the VAMC’s Psychiatric Services Line.  He has accepted a position as a Staff Psychiatrist at the VAMC.
